Directions

Location:  Coming from I-35 …….take Hwy 82 West at Gainesville……head to Saint Jo.  At the town square…..take Hwy 677 ("down the big hill") approximately 5.5 miles North (towards Capps Corner).  Take a right on Childress Road……go ¾ mile to 857 Childress Rd (Big Black mail box with ANCIENT OVENS sign and cattle guard)….. Turn right ….go ¼ mile to parking area.  Keep look out for horses, heelers and cats.  From the 677 turnoff at Childress Road -- there will be one mile of improved gravel roads to Ancient Ovens.  Our “Biker Friends” that have visited us said it was well worth it and they would do it again.

Don't forget to visit Arche' Winery.   www.archewines.com  Located off Hwy 677…. Go ¼ mile North of the Childress Road turn on 677.  Turn right on Wagoner Road. 


 Arche Winery is open to the public Friday through Sunday.  The amiable owners, Amy and Howard will give you the tour, show you the wine making process, and sell you a really good bottle of Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon   The perfect combo…… A bottle of Arche' wine and Ancient Ovens artisan bread and pizza.
